Pier 2 Pier- Norfolk 2023
Leigh Smith
My Story
I am taking part in Pier 2 Pier Norfolk 2023 in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices. EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and support their families. As many of you will know my daughter, Beatrice, was looked after at EACH hospice in Quidenham after she died from a rare heart condition, aged just 89 days old. EACH have supported myself and my other children beyond words, helping us navigate an unimaginable journey. This year Beatrice would have been turning 10 years old, so I wanted to mark the occasion by challenging myself and reigniting the fundraising which we did so much of after she died. This is that challenge.
EACH ARE INCREDIBLE
The key services which they provide includes: specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies and counselling; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.
£200- could pay for a Community Nursing Pack to provide essential equipment to deliver care in family home or elsewhere in the community.
£600- could pay for a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the week to provide expert nursing care to children and young people with life-threatening conditions.
£1,100- could pay for five sessions of Hydrotherapy which can help to relieve pain and relax muscles.
For families accessing care and those who have been bereaved, EACH is a lifeline at an unimaginably difficult time. When time is short, EACH helps families make the most of their precious time together and create memories that last forever. Thank you for supporting EACH by donating to my page.
